Man accused of shooting at police after cutting tether captured in Clinton Township

DETROIT (WJBK) - Ivory Traylor is accused of shooting at police officers, last year.   He was out on bond, ordered to wear a GPS tether, but he cut it off and made a run for it. 

Traylor is a 31-year old black male with a medium brown complexion, black hair, brown eyes, 5 feet 11 inches and 180 pounds. He may be using a cane.

"The first thing I would ask him is where in the hell have you been and why," said Ida Cuff, the suspect's grandmother.

The only people who want answers more than Ida Cuff is Detroit police. They are searching for Traylor, the 96-year-old woman's grandson. Police say he violated his bond conditions by removing his tether and is on the run. 

Traylor was free on a $100,000 bond and is awaiting trial for allegedly shooting at police last May. They returned fire-hitting Traylor.

A witness told FOX 2 at the time: "Then I heard about, maybe 15 to 20 shots and the suspect was laying right on Jefferson. There were like 15 cops surrounding him tending to his wounds."

Police say he removed his tether on the northbound Lodge freeway at the Wyoming exit ramp at about 9:30 a.m. Friday.

DPD received word an hour later and have been searching for Traylor since.

"They had been here looking for him, about eight policemen," Cuff said.

She added that the officers searched her home Friday and she had last seen him Thursday evening.

Police were able to locate Traylor in Clinton Township at his sisters home.

"I didn't even know he was wanted, he came to where he felt safe," Traylors sister said.
