Pontiac school custodian accused of inappropriate relationship with student

A custodian at Pontiac High School is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a student.

The superintendent for the Pontiac school district would not comment on camera, but in a letter to student families, she wrote the custodian has been accused of sending texts and photos of a sexual nature.

An investigation was launched after a parent contacted authorities.

"No one at all should be doing anything like that with a child in school," said a concerned parent.

The custodian was removed from the building and placed on administrative leave Wednesday, pending the outcome of the investigation by the Oakland County Sheriff's Office.

Officials say it does not appear that there was any sexual contact between the teen and the custodian and are collecting evidence to turn over to the prosecutor's office. On Thursday a deputy's vehicle was seen parked outside the school.

One parent who spoke to FOX 2 believes talking to your child is the best way to prevent an inappropriate relationship from taking place.

"We always have talks, always have," said a parent. "We always have to let them know if there is anything uncomfortable with any adult, (they let us know)."

School officials say they encourage any student who believes they may be a victim of any inappropriate behavior from an adult employed by the district to contact school administrators or police.
