Authorities are investigating after two people were hit with a bullet near a DDOT bus in Highland Park Wednesday morning.

Detroit Police say the shooting happened in the area of Hamilton Avenue and Oakman Boulevard. We're told someone inside a car going southbound on Hamilton was alongside the bus and started firing shots.

We're told one of the bullets went into the bus, and injured two people. Both were grazed and appear to be okay.

Police aren't sure at this time where the suspect and the suspect's car went.

Authorities believe the bus may have gotten caught in some crossfire, and that the suspect didn't intend to shoot at the bus.

Police haven't given a reason for the shooting at this time.
