There's an athletic event right here in Detroit that's drawing competitors from all over the area facing off in everything from track and field to arts and crafts.

We're talking about the 34th annual Senior Olympics.

About 300 seniors, who are 50 years or older, were competing at the Adams/Butzel complex in Detroit Wednesday.

Each senior is allowed to compete in up to six competitions.

It is a three-day event sponsored by The Detroit area agency on aging and other sponsors.  There's even a pie competition. And like most of the other sports, it's competitive, sometimes a little quirky, but always fun.
