Experimental flying car unexpectedly goes airborne, crashes at Willow Run
YPSILANTI, Mich. (FOX 2) - The pilot of an experimental flying car was hospitalized Friday after the plane crashed during a test run at Willow Run Airport.
The crash happened around 1:15 Friday afternoon when the Federal Aviation Administration said the experimental aircraft was conducting high-speed taxi tests at the airport.
Somehow, the plane took flight and then crashed. The owner/pilot was the only person on the aircraft. He was taken to the University of Michigan Hospital by paramedics.
The FAA is investigating the crash.
The pilot has not been identified by authorities.
