Family of Inkster father of 3 gunned down in car want justice

A father of three was shot to death in Inkster. It has been a few months since the tragedy, but Larry Brown Jr.'s family is waiting for justice.

On Thursday Crime Stoppers of Michigan stepped in to offer a $2,500 reward to find Brown's killers.

Michigan State Police said that on July 8th 2018, Brown had been sitting in his car around 3 p.m. just outside his sister's home on Liberty Court between Burton and Henry Ruff roads, when two men ran up to his car.

The men shot Brown at close range, then fleeing. Brown -- rushed to Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn but died 11 days later.

"It's really not fair for you to lose someone and not know anything about it," said Precious Brown, daughter. "Nothing at all."

"I'm tortured every day, I've seen my brother get shot and murdered in front of my house," said LaShaundra Coffee.

"I open my eyes every morning and Larry's the first thing on my mind," said Melody Coffee, his mother.

The case grew cold quickly as detectives originally canvassed the area with the help of Westland police. There is no known motive or suspects. Now six months later, the unbearable pain continues.

"Day after day we have been tormented by the fact that we have not gotten the answers we've been looking for," said John Coffee, his brother.

His young children are heartsick and confused.

"I miss my daddy so much," said Jarmolalen, the victim's daughter. "We used to always sing and we can't sing anymore because he's up in heaven."

"He was a kind, nice man and he was nice to his children," said Larry Brown, his son. "And I wish he could still be alive."
