Hepatitis A confirmed in Warren Buffalo Wild Wings employee
WARREN, Mich. (WJBK) - The Macomb County Health Department says an employee at Buffalo Wild Wings in Warren has tested positive for Hepatitis A.
The MCHD says that a food-service employee has Hepatitis A and they're asking anyone who at the restaurant from March 24 through April 9 to look for symptoms of Hepatitis A.
Those dates cover the three weekends of the NCAA Tournament.
The Buffalo Wild Wings at 29287 Mound Road in Warren was inspected Tuesday and the restaurant has been approved to operate.
Symptoms of Hepatitis A include abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, dark urine, fever, chills and yellow skin and eyes (jaundice). They develop typically 15 to 50 days after exposure.
If you develop those symptoms, you need to contact a doctor as soon as possible.
The Health Department also recommends a hepatitis A vaccine for previously unvaccinated persons who consumed food at the restaurant between March 24 and April 9, 2018. Vaccination can prevent hepatitis A if given within 14 days after potential exposure. The hepatitis A vaccine is available at the Macomb County Health Department and is also available through some healthcare providers and pharmacies.
