Man hit, killed by rock thrown from I-75 overpass in Vienna Township
VIENNA TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) - A man driving along Interstate 75 Wednesday night died when he was hit by a rock thrown from an overpass in Vienna Township, according to the Genesee County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office says the man was traveling southbound when the rock came down near Dodge Road. The rock smashed through the windshield and hit the man.
He was taken to Hurley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as 32-year-old Kenneth White of Mt. Morris.
The sheriff's office says they received calls about at least four other vehicles htiting large rocks. The sheriff's office say some of those drivers were waiting on scene for police to arrive.
Authorities believe the rocks were taken from another location and thrown from the overpass.
The man's death is being investigated as a homicide.
