Remains found in Ecorse determined to be of missing Detroit mother
DETROIT (WJBK) - Human remains found earlier this month in Ecorse are said to be that of Alisha McQueen, a woman who had been missing for months.
The Wayne County Medical Examiner confirmed the remains were of Alisha McQueen on Thursday. The examiner said, though, the cause and manner of death couldn't be determined at this time.
McQueen disappeared on March 7, last seen at an apartment complex in the Cass Corridor off Warren near I-94 that she shares with one of her sisters. McQueen told her daughter she was walking to a gas station a couple blocks away. Then an ominous text message came through on her daughter’s phone that said "Green F-150" and that was the last time anyone heard from the 27 year old.
Her family told us she had also been in an abusive relationship with her husband, but that she was planning on getting a divorce. Her sister told us McQueen met with her husband the day she disappeared, and that he drives a green F-150 pickup truck.
Police hadn't been able to confirm the family's allegations, and have also said the husband was in custody for charges on an unrelated case.
