Taylor woman facing murder charge in Burlington coworker's death

A woman accused of shooting and killing her coworker at Burlington in Taylor has been charged with murder Tuesday.

According to the Wayne County prosecutor's officer, 49-year-old Sandra Lynette Waller of Taylor was charged with first-degree murder and felony firearm in te death of 49-year-old Lorraine Maylynn Faison of Allen Park.

The incident happened around 7 a.m. Monday at the store in the 22300 block of Eureka Road. Police say the two were arguing when Waller fatally shot Faison once in the chest.

According to police on the scene, the fiancé of the woman believed to have fired those shots says managers at the store were aware of a conflict the two had over how to markdown merchandise.

Responding officers found Waller with a gun in her waistband and took her into custody. Faison was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

A motive for the shooting has not been offered by police.

"The supervisors sent them both home so I'm quite sure if they were sent home for the same problem, they should know it wasn't right for them be working together," the fiancé said.

Waller is scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. in 23rd District Court in Taylor.
