Warren man injured after teens threw sandbag off I-75 overpass in Ohio: police
TOLEDO, Ohio (WJBK) - Authorities say a man from Warren, Mich. was critically injured Tuesday by an object that was thrown from an interstate overpass near Toledo, Ohio.
Police responded to an accident on southbound I-75 and found a vehicle on the side of the road. When they approached the vehicle, the driver told them the passenger had a head injury. Police determined it wasn't an accident -- but that a sandbag had been thrown from the overpass above.
The sandbag hit the car's windshield, entered the car and hit 22-year-old Marquise Byrd.
Police say four teens were all throwing items from the overpass on Indiana Street when Byrd was struck. Police say he is in critical condition.
Police say Pedro Salina, 13; Sean Carter, 14; Demetrius Wimberly, 14; and William Parker, 14; have all been charged with felonious assault.

5 teens face up to life in prison for I-75 rock throwing 'prank' that killed man
In Michigan, five teens face life in prison after throwing rocks off an overpass near Flint, which hit a vehicle and killed a man in October.
Their so-called "prank" took the life of 32-year-old Kenneth White of Mount Morris, Mich. White was riding in a van coming home from work when authorities say a 6 lb. rock came crashing through the windshield, killing him.
The teens have been charged each with one count of second-degree murder, and one count of conspiracy to commit second-degree murder.
