Woman stabs boyfriend for allegedly raping teenage daughter

(WJBK) - Police are on the hunt for a rape suspect after a Detroit mother caught her boyfriend in bed with her 15-year-old daughter.

"I really was trying to kill him. I was enraged. I couldn't see straight," she said.

The mother says she found her longtime boyfriend, Kevin Price, in her bed with her teenage daughter. Once she put together what was happening, she says she lost it.

"I just went crazy. Me and my dog just started attacking him," she said.

Her pit-bull attacked his leg and she grabs a knife from the kitchen and starts stabbing his arm.

"(It was) a little vegetable cutter knife but it was Long enough to do some damage."

Police say given what happened to her daughter the mother's actions were justified as self-defense.

"She was hit with a metal broom that we saw in the house that was bent and she protected herself and her daughter," said Detroit Police Det. Robert Kane.

Despite being stabbed and bit by a dog price ran away.

"He kept calling me. He was saying that he was in an abandoned house," she said.

The mother of the victim says she's prepared in case the suspect comes back, with cameras installed around her house and a shovel by her bed. She says she answers the door now with a knife in hand.

Price and the victim's mother have been together for four years and have three young girls together.

"I knew he was crazy but I didn't know he was sick," she said.

After the speaking with daughter, she's learned this allegedly isn’t the first time the 15 year old has been sexually assaulted by Price.

"She said it happened when she was 14 and in my mama's basement," she said.

Price has a criminal history that includes unlawful imprisonment, assault, weapons charges and home invasions. They say he's likely still in the area. Anyone with information on where he is should call police.
