(WJBK) - The Berman Center for the Performing Arts is ready to party like it's 1985 with a stage production of The Wedding Singer.
But first, it needs to fill several spots on the cast. They're holding public auditions October 15 at the center. Elaine Smith, senior director at the Berman, joins FOX 2 with more.
ACTING: Please prepare a 1-minute monologue that best illustrates acting ability
SINGING: Please prepare 16 bars of a song that best shows off vocal abilities. The Berman prefers, but does not require, it to be from the American Songbook (musical theatre)
DANCE: Come dressed in comfortable clothes, ready to dance..Close-toed shoes (tennis shoes or dance shoes) are preferable.
MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS: Certain characters play instruments on stage, please check the character breakdown for specifics and notify the directorial team if instruments will be played
REHEARSALS: Rehearsals will be Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays beginning October 22, 2017. The full rehearsal schedule will be available at auditions. Cast members are required to attend all technical rehearsals and performances.

Thursday, January 25 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, January 27 at 8 p.m.
Sunday, January 28 at 4 p.m.
Wednesday, January 31 at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, February 1 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, February 2 at 8 p.m.
