Chiefs Cooking For Kids Nov. 16

Some of the finest top brass from local law enforcement and fire departments will be in a cook-off competition to raise money for area youth.

The Chiefs Cooking For Kids event is Thursday, November 16 at the Max Fisher Music Theater in Detroit. Enjoy an evening of great food, fun and music, and elect who will be crowned Metro-Detroit's 2017 Chief Chef. A silent auction to benefit The Youth Connection will be held during the event.

The Youth Connection is a nonprofit that connects youth in the area to a brighter future. Dr. Grenae Dudley, President and CEO of The Youth Connection, joined us on The Nine to tell us more about the event.

Dearborn Chief Ron Haddad, last year's Chief Chef and Chef Choice Winner, also joined us in the FOX 2 Cooking. This story will be updated to include his carrot cake recipe.
