Dr. Matthew Weiner at Diabetes Health Expo Nov. 4
(WJBK) - November is National Diabetes Awareness Month. According to the American Diabetes Association, in 2015, 30.3 million Americans, or 9.4% of the population, had diabetes.
A free diabetes health expo is happening Saturday, November 4 at Oakland Regional Hospital. There will be information and presentations on the signs, causes and treatment -- as well as free blood pressure, glucose and neuropathy screenings.
Dr. Matthew Weiner will be giving a presentation at 11:30 a.m. about managing diabetes with a healthy diet. He joined us on The Nine to tell us more. You can hear from him in the video player above and get some of his recipes below.
The free diabetes health expo is from 9 a.m. - noon at Oakland Regional Hospital. No reservations are required.
