Eagle scout candidate collects books to donate to schools

(FOX 2) - A local Eagle scout candidate is working to make sure every child can explore the magic of reading.

Christopher Smalley has been collecting books all of April and will donate them to schools that can not afford them.

He's collecting elementary level books as part of his service project to become an Eagle scout. Smalley said he himself likes to read and wants other people to be able to read too.

Some schools may not be able to afford newer books and he wants kids to have a variety to chose from.
