As if it's not large enough...Ikea is making its already huge store in Canton Township even larger - and more environmentally-friendly.

The Swedish chain has added about 44,000 square feet to its only Michigan location, which is already 311,000 square feet.  The company says that allows it to offer more products and have more items in stock.

But this big project isn't just good for the store, it's great for the environment. The expanded roof space is the perfect spot for a green energy upgrade, which means adding more solar panels to the new rooftop.

Most of the project was completed in March, but the solar project is slated to be finished by the fall.
