The students, counselors and parents involved in Levey Middle School's marching band have set a major fund-raising goal to help get them to Hawaii to perform at the 75th Anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack this December.

They call it the 1,000 for $100 campaign, and are seeking businesses, churches, individuals and organizations to donate $100 to help get the contingent of students to Hawaii.

The Marching Jaguars from Southfield have won numerous  first place honors in multiple competitions and made history last year by becoming the first-ever middle school to march in the America's Thanksgiving Parade.

The entire band visited the Fox2 Studios parking lot Saturday morning and performed after leaders described the goal of their mission to support our military personnel and have a valuable cultural exchange with students from Japan expected to participate.

The band established a GoFundMe.com page here
