(FOX 2) - Make Food Not Waste is a free event that aims to tackle the dilemma of food waste and promote sustainability.
It's happening Sunday, September 8, 2019 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. at Eastern Market's Shed 5.
At this year's Make Food Not Waste, some of Detroit's top chefs will be given a "mystery box", containing miscellaneous food items that are healthy and safe to eat but that normally go to waste in the common household. Their task will be to display their resourcefulness and create dishes for event attendees to sample using their mystery box.
Chef Phil Jones joined us on The Nine to demonstrate one of those mystery box challenges for us. You can watch in the video player above.
