Mitten Market in Royal Oak Dec. 17

(WJBK) - If you're looking for some holiday gift ideas, why not shop local? This weekend The Detroit Mercantile Company and Real Detroit events are presenting Mitten Market at the Royal Oak Farmers Market. 

!Mitten Market offers you the opportunity to purchase unique and hand-crafted gifts from over 70 of Michigan's finest artisans.

Browse vintage and antiques, creative edible items, clothing, Detroit-themed items, and much more. Stroll around and shop without all of that holiday mall stress while enjoying a craft beer, coffee, or Tito's Handmade Vodka cocktail and a bite to eat from such restaurants as El Charro and Big Boy.  Guests will also enjoy festive music by Amy Gore and Her Valentines, who will perform a special holiday-themed set.

SANTA PAWS will also be on-site - please bring your well-behaved pet (leashes, please) - to get their photo taken with Santa (humans welcome to pose for photos, too!)  $10 suggested donation will benefit Detroit Dog Rescue.  Tito's Handmade Vodka will have unique raffle prizes on hand, including a Tito's dog house!  Tito's will also match 100% of donations raised to help DDR find our furry friends warm and friendly homes for the holidays. 

The event is from 6-11 p.m and is free to attend.
