(WJBK) - George Faison make history in 1975 when he became the first African American to win a Tony Award for best choreography for "The Wiz."
The Detroit Institute of Arts is holding a special event with George Faison on Friday, December 16 at 8 p.m.
It's a live multimedia storytelling event that features excerpts from theatre, film and concerts Faison has choreographed and includes live musical and dance performances accompanied by an orchestra. Les Gold, star of Pawn Stars is also featured.
