(FOX 2) - An event this weekend is helping people become educated about the challenges young people face today.
The Youth Empowerment Summit educates parents and children how to cope with anxiety, self-doubt, grief, depression and suicidal thoughts. The summit is a culmination of developmental workshops and seminars focusing on improving self-image, coping skills, emotional health and spiritual enlightenment.
Social worker nikkia matthews and licensed counselor Thiera Lane joined us in studio to tell us more about the event. You can hear from them in the video player above.
The summit is Saturday, March 30 in Detroit. You can get more information about it here.
