Seven people shot in four separate shootings, three dead
DETROIT (FOX 2) - A man is dead, and two other people were hurt after a shooting in Detroit.
At 10:40 p.m. Friday, a shooting in the 4700 block of Nevada left one man in his 20s dead and two others injured.
The injured men are being treated at a local hospital. The circumstances of the shooting are currently unknown.
In another shooting, this one on the west side, 35-year-old Detroit man was killed following a shooting on the exit ramp from north Southfield to I-96 in Detroit shortly after 6 p.m. June 8.
Police started receiving calls about a possible shooting around 6 p.m. on Saturday.
MSP says Detroit Police arrived on the scene and found the victim inside their car. Officers immediately began CPR until EMS transported the victim to Sinai-Grace Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The victim was identified as a 35-year-old man from Detroit. His family has been notified according to police.
Police had the ramp closed for more than three hours while they swept the area, including using their K-9 units. Multiple shell casings were recovered during the search.
Police have no motive or suspect information at this time.
And on Saturday, around 10:15 p.m., DPD responded to the 18100 block of W Warren for a man in his 20s who was shot. He was privately conveyed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The circumstances are currently unknown.
Finally, two teens were shot in the arms while driving on the Lodge Freeway overnight Sunday.
Michigan State Police received a call around 1:30 a.m. for a single-car crash on the Lodge northbound near McNichols. The caller told MSP they had been shot at and were hiding.
A second crash happened after a car crashed into the abandoned victim's vehicle. The driver sustained minor injuries from the crash, says MSP.
Investigators say the victim's vehicle did have bullet holes in it. The 18-year-old driver from West Bloomfield and the 19-year-old passenger from Southfield were found with gunshot wounds to their arms.
They were transported to a nearby hospital and listed in temporary serious condition, says MSP.
The freeway was closed during the investigation.
"Detectives are continuing to look for evidence and interviewing witnesses," said MSP Lt. Mike Shaw. "Currently, we are working to determine exactly what occurred and possible suspect(s)."
