1 killed, 1 injured in shooting outside Inkster housing complex
INKSTER, Mich. (WJBK) - One person was killed and another was injured Wednesday morning in a shooting outside a housing complex in Inkster.
Around 7:30 a.m., two cars met up near the complex which is at Annapolis and Inkster roads. Neighbors there tell FOX 2's Charlie Langton the area is called Denby Area.
Gunshots were exchanged the two vehicles, and the driver of one of the vehicles was killed. He has been identified by family as Alfred Austin. During the shooting, his car also drove up and hit one of the houses in the complex.
One other person was injured in the shooting and managed to run towards Inkster Road. He was found by officials and was taken to the hospital. His condition is unknown at this time.
Lt. Mike Shaw of Michigan State Police says they are looking for a black Pontiac Bonneville or a Chevy Impala with tinted windows. He is asking that if you saw something or know anything to call 1-855-MICH-TIP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
The police believe the drivers of the two cars knew each other, but are investigating what the relationship between the two was.
