14-year-old girl fatally struck by two cars on Telegraph Road

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) - A 14-year-old girl was killed Wednesday crossing southbound Telegraph between 9 and 10 mile in Southfield.  Police say she was struck by two separate vehicles shortly after school was dismissed at Bradford Academy.

Friends of Shammah Hebron told Fox 2 they watched the freshman run back from Burger King - crossing southbound Telegraph between 9 and 10 mile. She was with two other girls at the time - but police say it was Shammah who was struck by two separate vehicles, killing the young girl.

"We feel terrible this situation happened. We are doing everything we can to keep the rest of our students safe and deal with all the trauma they are dealing with," said Cheryl Paul, Bradford Academy principal

Bradford Academy plans to bring in a trauma response team to help students deal with the loss of their beloved classmate. Shammah was described as smart and funny with a promising future.

"She was a very bright young girl and a pleasure to have in the school. I'm going to miss her," said Paul.

Southfield police blocked off telegraph to investigate the accident for several hours to determine exactly what happened. We're told both drivers who hit the young girl were very emotional and stayed on the scene.

Shammah's parents were too distraught to talk - still in shock - on how their baby could be here one moment and gone the next.
