2 hurt when semi rolls on top of SUV on I-75 at Caniff
(WJBK) - Two people were hurt Tuesday morning in an accident involving a semi truck on I-75.
The accident happened on the northbound side at Caniff. Michigan State Police says a semi truck rolled over onto a passenger car.
Both the semi driver and the other driver were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. MSP says the driver of the SUV was pinned in the vehicle and had to be rescued by Hamtramck Fire. The driver had minor leg injuries.
The semi truck driver also had minor injuries but police didn't elaborate.
Police say the SUV was slowing in the right lane of I-75 and that the semi driver could not stop. The truck driver hit the median wall and went up the embankment and rolled down onto the SUV.
MSP says the semi driver was found at fault in the crash for following too closely, and that the SUV driver has a suspended license.
Only the left lane is open right now while crews are still on scene investigating. Authorities are waiting to see if the truck can be towed without emptying its cargo.
