200 pounds of pot seized from unlicensed Detroit dispensary caught selling marijuana to minors

Detroit police seized more than 200 pounds of marijuana from an unlicensed dispensary after the business was caught selling weed to minors.

According to Detroit police, a tip about sales to underage customers led them to Puff Puff Pass in the 8000 block of E. 7 Mile. When officers searched the business on Jan. 9. they allegedly found and confiscated about 201 pounds of marijuana and about a pound of mushrooms.

Police also seized $737 in cash and two handguns.

Two employees were detained and cited for operating an unlicensed business and possessing more than 2.5 ounces of marijuana.

In Michigan, adults 21 and older can possess up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana on their person and up to 10 ounces in their home. The illegal business had more than 3,200 ounces.
