$50K+ worth of stolen items, crystal meth found after string of thefts in St. Clair County

A string of break-ins in St. Clair County led to the recovery of tens of thousands of dollars worth of stolen items, and theft and drug charges against a man.

According to the Port Huron Police Department, numerous thefts were reported from storage units, along with thefts of copper wiring and items stolen from porches. 

An investigation into these thefts led to a search of a home in the 800 block of Garfield Street in Port Huron on Dec. 17. During that search, police found more than $50,000 worth of stolen goods, as well as six ounces of crystal meth.

William Kenneth Evenson, 54, was charged with breaking and entering with intent, receiving and concealing stolen property, and possession of meth. His bond was set at 100,000/10%.
