Barricaded gunman scene in Pittsfield Township

A 59-year-old resident has themselves barricaded inside a Pittsfield apartment residence. Several police agencies have responded to the scene.

A barricaded gunman was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon following an hours-long standoff near Ann Arbor.

Police responded to Glencoe Hills in Pittsfield Township after reports of gunshots just before 2 a.m. Multiple law enforcement agencies responding to the scene reported also hearing shots being fired when they arrived at the scene.

A 59-year-old resident of the apartment barricaded themselves inside the apartment #5. They were eventually taken into custody after 4 p.m. and taken to a hospital for an evaluation. No injuries were reported, and police have not released additional details about the circumstances or standoff.
