70-year-old Dearborn woman stabbed to death; 1 in custody
DEARBORN, Mich. (FOX 2) - Police arrested one person after a Dearborn woman was stabbed to death Sunday night in an apparent domestic violence situation.
Officers responded to the 7800 block of Reuter Street around 7:35 p.m. and found 70-year-old Jamila Alwan suffering stab wounds. Despite administering CPR to Alwan, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
One person who was at the house was arrested. It isn't clear how Alwan and the person of interest knew each other.
"We extend our deepest condolences to the friends and family of the victim. Senseless acts of this nature can shake the community to its core. We will continue this investigation diligently in order to deliver justice for the victim," Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin said.
