Avondale district grade school teacher killed in fiery I-94 crash

A young woman who died died Tuesday night in the six-vehicle fiery crash on I-94 near 23 Mile Road Wednesday. 

Jaclyn Scott of Chesterfield Township died in the crash. She  worked in the Avondale school district where she taught second and third grade at Woodland Elementary School in Troy. 

Witnesses told police that rush hour traffic was stopped on an exit ramp on I-94 causing a back-up in Chesterfield Township.

Police said that the chain reaction crash happened when a semi tractor and trailer slammed into several vehicles. The truck driver, a 38-year-old man from Caseville, and four other drivers suffered various non-life threatening injuries.
