Westland barricaded gunman situation ends peacefully
WESTLAND, MI - A barricaded gunman situation Sunday night in Westland ended peacefully, police said.
Officers responded to a home on Cherry Hill near Newburgh on Sunday evening. The suspect eventually surrounded after midnight.
"Luckily, we were able to navigate through the tricky situation without anybody being hurt, without anyone being in harm's way any more than they needed to be," Westland Police Deputy Chief Robert Wilkie said.
Police did not provide details about what led to the barricaded situation.
