Belleville man accused of robbing Oakland County bank while on parole for another bank robbery

Shannon Sexton (Oakland County Jail)

A man currently on probation after a 2014 bank robbery conviction is behind bars again after he allegedly robbed an Oakland County bank last week.

Shannon Donald Sexton, 53, of Belleville is charged with bank robbery stemming from the crime Thursday at Vibe Credit Union at 6580 Dixie Hwy. in Independence Township.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, Sexton handed the teller a note that said to empty the cash draw. After the crime, he fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Investigators were able to identify his vehicle, which was connected to a rental agency. The vehicle was tracked to Pontiac, where Sexton was arrested Friday afternoon.
