Blake's explains after photos of sick pig circulate, insists pig is receiving proper care

A popular orchard and cider mill is clearing the air about the condition of one of their farm animals.

A concerned customer posted photos on social media of what appeared to be a malnourished pig kept at Blake's in Armada.

The sickly-looking swine was also said to be acting lethargic.

It turns out the pig, named Sam, is, in fact, under the weather - but Blake Farms officials say they're well aware of her condition and that the pig has been receiving proper care.

Blake Farms explained on its Facebook page that everyone thought it was best to keep Sam with her pals during treatment.

But since receiving some complaints, they've temporarily moved the pig, who has worms, to a private area of the farm while she recuperates.

Officials with Macomb County Animal Control have also been out the orchard and confirm the pig is being well cared for.

The customer who originally posted the photos of the pig has since deleted her post, saying "the animals are and were getting treatment which is all [I] wanted. I didn't want Blake's to be destroyed. Just wanted them to tend to the animals which is happening."

Her original post with pictures of the sick pig had been shared hundreds of times.
