Pouring a cup of pink lemonade in his driveway in Macomb, 4-year-old Connor Nicol is on a mission.

"I just want to help other kids," he says. And his goal is sweeter than his sweet tea.

"We were up north, he said he wanted to raise the money to buy toys for kids when they were going through cancer treatment," says Diana Nicol.

Connor dragged out some of his favorite old toys with his little sister's help.

"He's very serious about this," Dina says. "He tells people, especially his grandfather, that it is a $5 donation for the lemonade."

Connor's inspiration for this garage sale and lemonade stand is his 3-year-old friend Ella who passed away last year from a brain tumor.

"As we found out that she was terminal we had to explain to him that she might go to heaven," Diana says.

"We used to play and have fun and blow bubbles," Connor says. "I love her."

FOX 2: "You miss her a lot?"

"Yeah," he says.

Connor held a garage sale to help Ella's family last year and, on Monday, held another one to help other kids. He raised $93.

"He wants to help others and he knows others aren't as fortunate as us," says Diana.

He's still just a kid honoring his best friend.

Connor's lemonade stand and garage sale is scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4 at 47380 Freedom Valley Drive in Macomb, 48044. The family said that donations can also be mailed to that address as well.
