Boyfriend charged after woman killed in suspicious hit-and-run in Harrison Twp
HARRISON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) - Authorities in Macomb County say a 34-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of a woman from Warren.
The Macomb County Sheriff's Office says the body of 33-year-old Danielle Labellarte was found in the road near Ruth Motel early Wednesday morning. Ruth Motel is along Jefferson and Shook in Harrison Township.
Authorities say Labellarte was visiting her boyfriend, Tyler Stewart, of Clinton Township, at the motel and they got into an argument. Stewart had been staying at the motel for about a month, and Labellarte would regularly visit him.
The couple left the hotel in Stewart's vehicle early that morning on October 24. We're told Labellarte attempted to exit the vehicle and was run over. Stewart fled the scene.
Authorities have charged Stewart with three counts: Homicide - Manslaughter (15 year felony); Operating - License Suspended, Revoked, Denied - Causing Death (15 year felony); and Failure to Stop at Scene of Accident - When at Fault - Resulting in Death (15 year felony).
Stewart was given a $500,000 cash'surety bond and is due back in court November 7.
