Boyfriend critically injures woman in shooting, police say

DETROIT (WJBK) - A woman was critically injured in a domestic shooting Thursday morning, according to Detroit police.

Police say the victim is in critical condition at the hospital after being shot by her boyfriend.

Police say the shooting happened in the 5700 block of E Outer Drive, which is across the street from Mt. Olivet Cemetery near Seven Mile Road.

Police haven't said what led up to the shooting, but they did say the victim was armed with a knife and that she hit the man in the face with some keys. Police say that's when the man pulled out the gun and shot her.

It's unclear at this time if the boyfriend is in custody.

Police are still investigating the shooting.
