Break-in suspect shot by relative on Detroit's southwest side
DETROIT (WJBK) - Detroit police are investigating a shooting that happened on Detroit's southwest side early Monday morning.
Detroit police say an 17-year-old heard a commotion in the front of the house in the 5800 block of Lumley Street, which is near Lonyo and Warren avenues. He say a man he thought was trying to break into the truck, so he fired multiple shots.
The shots hit the 44-year-old in the chest and the leg. He has been taken to the hospital and is in critical condition because of profuse bleeding, police say.
Detroit police believe the two men may be relatives, perhaps cousins.
