Breastfeeding mom of triplets praises Delta on Facebook

When it comes to breastfeeding moms and air travel, the stories tend to lean towards what airlines did not do to accommodate new moms:  they're told to cover up or given places like a dog relief center to pump.

However, a breastfeeding mom to triplets is changing that.

Jenna Mde posted about how Delta Airlines flight attendants accommodated the mother of three during a Friday flight from Atlanta and then a different group did the exact same on the trip home.

Her February 13 post describing her experience reads, in part:

"Yesterday, two flight attendants, Kaitlin K and Loretta, on my flight from Atlanta to Dallas-Love Field, allowed me to sit in an empty first class seat for more space and privacy while I pumped in flight," Jenna Evans posted on Delta's Facebook page Saturday. "They offered me snacks and provided TONS of water during my pumping session."

She posted it directly on Delta Airlines Facebook page and it's been liked almost 50,000 times and has been shared 3,000 times.

Delta even responded:

"We are very happy to hear that Kaitlin and Loretta were able to be there for you when needed," Delta wrote. "We would love to recognize them and pass your kinds words along as we know they would be very touched and happy to know this."

Jenna's story is in contrast to some earlier headlines about Delta and breastfeeding. In December Delta was blasted by passenger Vanessa Kasten Urango, who posted an open letter to Facebook saying the airline refused to let her transport her breast milk.

Urango said she had contacted the airline's customer service team before the flight, who told her she could pack the milk with dry ice in a cooler and check it in at baggage claim.

But on arrival at Newark Airport in New York, she was told she wouldn't be allowed to take the dry ice onto the plane.

Delta later apologized, and offered $150 in compensation.
