(WJBK) - It is hard to imagine, but as winter approaches there are thousands of young people with no place to call home. That is where Covenant House Michigan comes in to offer hope and help.
Covenant House is holding its annual candlelight vigil to raise awareness for the young people who are homeless. The vigil is Thursday, Nov. 29 at 6 p.m. at Covenant House's campus, which is at 2959 MLK Jr. Blvd. in Detroit. The vigil is followed by the executive sleepout, in which executives sleep overnight outside in cardboard boxes. The participants have already raised $280,000 for Covenant House's programs this year.
