Car hits Porta Potty along Woodward, causes accident

Drivers along Woodward Avenue Friday morning may have noticed a bit of a slowdown, but it wasn't due to the increased Dream Cruise traffic.

A car crashed into a portable toilet along Woodward, just south of 14 Mile Road. Two other cars were involved in the accident. No one was seriously injured.

It took a while for crews to clean up. As of 8:30 a.m. the left lanes of both directions were still moving slow.

It's unclear at this time if the Porta Potty was on the side of the road or had somehow mistakenly been in the road.

Porta Potties and spectator booths have made their way along Woodward as the Dream Cruise kicks off this weekend. The Dream Cruise is a one-day automotive event that draws more than a million people along Woodward to watch the thousands of classic cars go by. The official Dream Cruise day is Saturday.
