Charlie Bothuell pleads guilty to 4th-degree child abuse

Charlie Bothuell has pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree child abuse charge, a spokesperson for the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office confirmed to FOX 2.

Charlie Bothuell IV and his son, also named Charlie, made national headlines in the summer of 2014 when the younger Charlie went missing for more than a week. He was eventually found in the family's basement.

Child abuse in the fourth degree is a misdemeanor. Bothuell IV was sentenced to 18 months' probation and anger management classes. He was also ordered to have no contact with his son.
