A family is finding its strength after a Rochester Hills mother was murdered in her home and her husband turned himself in, confessing to the crime.

"We are going to be singing Fleetwood Mac again someday in heaven," said Josh Lee.

Josh Lee and his siblings are facing the painful reality of losing their mother, Cory Ann Ehlers. But Lee says that pain turns to joy when they think about their mom and everything she means to them.

"We are very much in celebration of my mother's life," Lee said.

Police say Ehlers was shot and killed earlier this week by estranged husband, Shaun Wheeler who was arraigned on first degree premeditated murder charges.

Lee says it's difficult thinking about life without their rock - but they know life must continue.

"She is survived by her four beautiful children and we have a lot of work to do to make sure that they feel included in this community and that they have a nice, supportive environment moving forward," Lee said.

Leading the charge on this mission is Rebecca Bezemek who taught Josh when he was in high school. After hearing the devastating news, she created a GoFundMe account to show a teacher's support extends far beyond the classroom.

"Remember that these kids, that this family, will not only need assistance now but two weeks from now, but two years from now," said Bezemek. "It's going to continue."

And that's why so many in this community say they want to help the family.

Tim Ciotti knows the family and says he's also organizing a GoFundMe

"This is going to financially a very difficult time for a lot of people," he said.

Josh and his family say they are grateful by all the support they are receiving and right now they're focusing on their mother and how she taught them to love unconditionally.

"Because if we don't do that," Lee said. "There really is no constructive future for anybody."
