Como's in Ferndale holds grand reopening weekend
FERNDALE, Mich. (WJBK) - A popular metro Detroit restaurant is back open after the health department shut it down.
Reports of unclean conditions surfaced at Como's in Ferndale, but now owners are hoping customers give them another chance. The restaurant held a grand reopening all weekend long after undergoing a major makeover.
"New menu; new attitude," says Como's owner, George Grego. "We're excited."
Como's has been a Ferndale fixture since 1961.
Grego says he's hired a new executive chef, and there's some changes in the dining room, too. The restaurant features new, hand-painted tables with designs by six local artists.
The new menu features all of Como's delicious house specialties and longtime favorites like pizza, pasta, steaks, seafood, desserts and more. In addition, lighter options have been added, from small plates to salads, burgers, subs, soups and sides. As always, the restaurant offers its popular patio (seasonal), bar and banquet facilities, carry out, delivery, and a kids menu.
Como's officially reopened Friday, October 21.
