Courts closed Friday during snowstorm

Several courthouses around southeast Michigan are closed Friday due to the snowstorm.

Below is a list of courthouses that have notified us they are closed for the day. If you have a hearing scheduled, check with the main office before heading out

  • 3rd Circuit Court, Detroit
  • 23rd District Court, Taylor
  • 28th District Court, Southgate
  • 36th District Court, Detroit
  • 47th District Court, Farmington Hills
  • West Bloomfield Twp Town Hall

Plenty of us will finish the day with about 6 1/2 inches of snow. The snow is lighter in Monroe County with the heavier stuff tracking through Washtenaw and Oakland. Wayne County is experiencing some of that heavier snow right now and that spreads into Macomb.

Timing wise - the snow sticks around all morning long, into the afternoon, through the afternoon and starts to come to an end by 6 p.m. tonight. That puts us at 12 hours of snow accumulation.

Then we'll get a break until about midnight, then we get another burst on Saturday morning before Saturday shapes up to be mostly dry. We could see another couple inches on Sunday.
