Dearborn police use drone in night time arrest of stolen car suspect
FOX 2 - Dearborn police said the use of a Flock license plate reading camera and a department drone played key roles in locating and arresting a suspect in a stolen car case early Monday morning.
A Flock reader in the area of Brady Street and Cherry Hill detected a stolen vehicle, leading to Night Shift and Special Operations Officers to respond.
Once in the area, officers deployed a drone equipped with an infrared camera to locate the suspect. A brief foot chase ensued, leading to the arrest, while the car was also recovered.

Police say the suspect was also connected to a case of car break-in attempts in the Country Club Neighborhood on the city's west side - serving as a reminder for residents to lock their vehicles.
Chief Issa Shahin credits the use of new technology and his special unit for the arrest.
"We are fortunate to have advanced technology, including license plate cameras and drones, to assist us in our day-to-day operations to locate these suspects," he said. "This incident demonstrates the efficient and safe collaboration between our Night Shift Officers, Special Operations Team and Drone Officers in locating and apprehending the suspect. Thank you to all the Police Officers involved for a job well done."
