Detroit and West Bloomfield police execute search warrant on Detroit's east side

There was a heavy police presence at a Detroit home on the city's east side on Friday morning.

A Detroit police swat team was in the area of 8 Mile and Van Dyke, executing a search warrant for a suspect that officials believe may have committed major crimes in Oakland County. While officers were only inside for an hour, they did walk out with two paper bags.

"I just woke up and they were at the door," said Nicole, who lives in the home.

Another man who, lives across the street had just come home when he saw the raid.

"I just got home and I was going to sleep, and then I heard some loud noise and it woke me up," said Jonthan Walker.

Police from the South Oakland Special Response Team, which includes officers from a few different agencies entered a home at the corner of 20000 Block Savage and Stotter Street with guns drawn. Officers wouldn't disclose much, beyond that the warrant is connected to an ongoing investigation.

"There a bunch of police cars, a big SWAT truck and some helicopters," said Walker.

Officers did not make any arrests.

Police did say the investigation is tied to financial crimes and larceny.
