Detroit attorney Todd Perkins announce plans to run for mayor
DETROIT (FOX 2) - Well-known Detroit attorney Todd Perkins made the announcement that he plans to run for mayor Friday night.
He runs Perkins Law Group in Detroit.
The announcement was made at a Christmas party he hosted in Detroit that he plans to file paperwork to run for mayor. He plans to file before the end of the year.
Perkins was in the news recently, representing Judge Kenneth King in a civil suit for a controversial decision to handcuff a teen girl for contempt of court.
That case then took a twist with the mother who filed the charges being accused of beating up her elderly aunt.
During the trial of the mother of the Oxford High School shooter, Perkins was on FOX 2 discussing the novel case and how it could lead to several questions on the jury's stance.
That mother was found guilty.
He told FOX 2 that more announcements would be made in January.
