Detroit Auto Show: Things to do, where to park, and more
DETROIT (FOX 2) - The 2025 Detroit Auto Show is officially back in January and doors open to the public this weekend.
The auto show is making its triumphant return to January after two attempts at a summer event. And there's going to be a lot of changes to the auto show from previous years – but mixed with some fun and interactive additions from the summer shows.
Things to Do at the Detroit Auto Show
Despite the cold outside, Huntington Place will be warming up.
Ford will once again construct the Ford Bronco Built Wild Track with two new obstacles – Rock Crawl and Tilt Ridge.
Jeep is also bringing the Camp Jeep experiential activation to give attendees a chance to hit the trail.
Plus – the new Detroit Grand Prix-themed track will be open as well.
There is no fee to ride on the test tracks as these are included with the cost of your ticket.
The Detroit Auto Show also announced that Jan. 17 will bring back Racing Day in conjunction with the Detroit Grand Prix – giving attendees a chance to meet top drivers from NTT INDYCAR SERIES and INDY NXT by Firestone.
They'll also give lucky fans a chance to ride with the drivers on Detroit Grand Prix-inspired tracks in Chevrolet Corvette E-Rays that were pace cars for the Indy 500 and Detroit Grand Prix.
When is the Detroit Auto Show?
The Detroit Auto Show opens to the public on Saturday, Jan. 11, at Huntington Place. However, the show technically opens Friday night with media day and the charity preview.
But on Saturday at 10 a.m., the doors open to everyone.
The show is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. from Jan. 11 to 14 and then again from Jan. 17 to 19.
The reason for the break is to allow time for Industry Days on Jan. 15 and 16. On those days, the doors will be open 1 to 8 p.m.
The final day of the show is Monday, Jan. 20 and features special programming for Martin Luther King Jr. Day before closing doors to the public at 7 p.m.
Detroit Auto Show tickets
Getting in the door isn't free – but tickets aren't going to cost you a fortune, either.
Tickets are $20 for adults, $12 for seniors, and $10 for kids under 12. Children two years and younger are free.
You can also get a family pass of $50 – which allows two adults and three kids in.
Tickets are on sale now and you can either buy early or buy in person at ticket booths in Huntington Place.
Parking for the Detroit Auto Show
The Detroit Auto Show is at Huntington Place in Detroit.
Parking is available at different parking garages and lots in downtown Detroit.
The auto show recommends drivers book parking early through SpotHero, which allows users to book a spot and calculate how long the walk is to Huntington Place.
You can park at Huntington Place or other lots throughout downtown.
Additionally, the Detroit People Mover is on the go again and is free! The People Mover will open at 8 a.m. on weekends during the show and stops at Huntington Place.
This means you could park in Bricktown or near the Renaissance Center and then hop on for a quick way in and out.
You could also park farther north on Woodward and then take the Q Line to Grand Circus.
