Detroit police at scene of barricaded gunman on Evergreen

DETROIT (WJBK) - Police are at a barricaded gunman scene playing out on Detroit's west side.

Detroit police and Michigan State Police are outside a house in the area of Evergreen just south of Joy Road.

Police say a man assaulted his mother and is armed with a shotgun. His mother and other family members ran out of the house and called police.

Police are negotiating with the gunman.
